Wish of a Lifetime, an organization founded by former Olympic skier Jeremy Bloom that grants life-changing wishes to older adults and inspires people to redefine aging in America, has made it possible for a man from Averill Park, N.Y. to fulfill a longtime goal of fishing with pro angler Mike Iaconelli.
Gerald Gibson, a 65-year-old who co-runs a bass fishing club, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of blood cancer in 2022, which required months of treatment, including chemotherapy. Despite a poor initial prognosis, he's now cancer-free and returned to his job at a steel mill shortly after going into remission.
Wish of a Lifetime will fund a trip to New Jersey this month, where Gibson will fish with Iaconelli.
