Combs' annual fundraising event set for weekend

The 8th annual fundraising tournament and banquet hosted by Bassmaster Elite Series angler Keith Combs and benefiting the C.A.S.T. For Kids Foundation will take place next week in Lufkin, Texas.

The banquet will be held Sept. 27 at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center and will feature a catered dinner, live auction and raffles. Auction and raffle items include guns, exclusive hunting trips, guided freshwater and saltwater fishing trips, custom woodwork, home décor and many one-of-a-kind items. There will also be an online auction beginning Monday (Sept. 23).

The following day, Combs and wife Jennifer will host a day of fishing for special needs children at Lake Nacogdoches. Participants will be supplied with a fishing rod and reel, tackle box, hat, T-shirt and award plaque. A barbecue lunch will be provided for all participants, their families, and volunteers. Registration is open to children over the age of 6 and all disabilities are welcome.

100 percent of the proceeds from the auction and raffle items will benefit the C.A.S.T. For Kids Foundation, a 501C-3 non-profit whose mission is to enrich the lives of special needs and disadvantaged children through the sport of fishing.
