The National Professional Fishing League announced that it'll conduct an event on the St. Lawrence River out of Massena, N.Y., July 9-11, 2025. The event had originally been scheduled for later in July and the location was previously undisclosed.
“The previously scheduled dates presented a conflict for many of our anglers,” explained NPFL President Brad Fuller. “By moving the event up three weeks, we can eliminate that conflict and better serve our anglers, our sponsors, and our fans.”
In the league’s previous schedule announcement in October, the location of the event had not yet been finalized.
“Summertime bass fishing on the St. Lawrence is some of the best anywhere at any time,” said Fuller. “It’s going to give our field an opportunity to show off their skills and the amazing fishery. It’ll be a great event!”
Don R. Meissner, Massena Fishing Tournament Director, added “The Town of Massena is proud to host the National Professional Fishing League in 2025. The St. Lawrence River is teeming with giant smallmouths, including a 9-pound monster that set a new state record this summer. We welcome all the NPFL anglers and their families to a week of new adventures and fantastic catches.”
“The tournament will be the NPFL’s first on the St. Lawrence River and first in the State of New York,” Fuller added. “The Town of Massena has been a terrific partner, and we’re looking forward to bringing top-notch tournament bass fishing to that community.”
